Alcatel One Touch 990 Android smartphone priced at €180

Alcatel has announced its flagship Android smartphone called Alcatel One Touch 990 at the Mobile World Congress 2011.
The One Touch 990 phone runs Android 2.2 operating system and includes 20 mobile Internet applications. The phone will be available in the European markets in May 2011 and will come with a price tag of about €180 without contract. Related:Cheap and best Android phones in India
Alcatel One Touch 990 is powered by a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and has Alcatel’s custom user interface on top. The Android phone sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution. The One Touch 990 boasts a 5-megapixel camera with flash and auto focus.

Alcatel One Touch 990 smartphone comes with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options along with GPS navigation. It is compatible with 3G+ HSDPA and features a microSD slot of up to 32GB.
The company has not given any word on when Alcatel One Touch 990 will be launched in India, if at all, and at what price. Last year, Tata Docomo, Alcatel and Yahoo! released a co-branded handset, named theOne Touch Net at a price of Rs. 5,500 in India.
Alcatel also unveiled two other phones – the One Touch 908 and the One Touch 890, which are Alcatel’s lower-tier phones. Alcatel One Touch 908 uses capacitive technology and runs Android 2.2 operating system. The phone includes quad-band 3G radios. The One Touch 908 will carry a price tag of €130, while the One Touch 890 is priced at €99.
Alcatel has many One Touch phones. In the “Get Apps” range there are models like One Touch 910, One Touch 908, One Touch 890 and One Touch 891.
Then there is Alcatel One Touch 803, which is a “Just Add Friends” mobile, an all-in-one model boasting the speed of a QWERTY keyboard and has a 2.4-inch touchscreen. Through Edge connection, it provides you with central access to mailboxes, instant messengers and social networking sites. Other mobiles in this series include models like One Touch 900, One Touch 888 and One Touch 585.
Alcatel has “Keep In Touch” range of phones that starts wit the Alcatel One Touch 905 which offers a push e-mail function to keep you up to date with your community via 3G connectivity option. It features a 2.8-inch touchscreen and 2-megapixel camera. The range also consists of the One Touch 818, One Touch 710, One Touch 706 and One Touch 602.
Those who are looking for fun features at an affordable price, Alcatel has the One Touch 355 “Simply You” phone. It has the text chat function that enables you to scroll through the log of each of your conversations. Additional features like a VGA camera, music player & FM radio RDS are also added.
Other phones in Alcatel’s “Simply You” range are the One Touch 690, One Touch 665, One Touch 506, One Touch 385, One Touch 361, One Touch 330, One Touch 306, One Touch 217, One Touch 213, One Touch 117, One Touch 112 and One Touch 112.

LG Released Optimus 3D, Black and 2X Smartphone

LG has officialy announced its new Optimus Mobile Phones- LG Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, and Optimus 3D.LG has announced three new Android 2.2 smartphones.The Optimus Black has two built-in cameras, including a 2-Megapixel camera on the front for video calls, easily putting competitors' 1.3-Megapixel alternatives to shame.






LG Optimus 2XLG optimus 2X is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz ARM processor and GeForce GPU with ULP technology. It is equipped with 4-inch Capacitive Touchscreen with 480 x 800 resolution and 8 Megapixel camera with LED Flash and autofocus, plus secondary camera for video calls. It is based on Android 2.2 Froyo Operating System, upgradable to Android 2.2 Gingerbread OS.  Othere features includes Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor and Proximity Sensor. It feaures Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, 3G, A-GPS, and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, HDMI connectivity options. It has inbuilt 8GB memory and memory expandable upto 32GB.

It supports expandable memory upto 32GB.
LG Optimus 3D also comes with multiple connectivity options including HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) and DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance), which will allow you to easily transfer the recorded content to other devices. LG Optimus 3D runs on the Android operating system, but we are still not sure regarding the version of the Android OS.

Motorola Defy makes its way to Indian shores, Google Nexus S to follow soon?

According to recent reports, it looks like the super-rugged can-take-any-abuse Motorola Defy is finally going to make its way into the Indian market, and is expected as early as January 24th, next week.

Dust proof and water resistant, the Motorola Defy also has a scratch-proof Gorilla Glass screen, making it suitable smartphone contender in the harsh Indian environments. The screen’s bezel is much hyped by Motorola for being remarkably thin, allowing for an edge-to-edge display. While it currently runs Android 2.1(Éclair) with MotoBlur and Live widgets as a light skin, the Motorola Defy is tipped to receive a Froyo (v2.2) update soon.
Specifications include a 800MHz OMAP 3610 processor (a welcome change from the under-powered 600MHz offerings), a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen (rather high res at 854x480), as well as a 5MP camera with autofocus. Internal storage is 2GB, which can be expanded up to 34GB with a microSD card.
For now, rumoured pricing pegs the Defy at approximately Rs. 20,000, something that justifies the premium of the onboard storage, 800MHz processor, and climate-resistant design.
Google Nexus S

The Google Nexus S is the Samsung built lead device of Google’s latest iteration of its Android mobile operating system – Gingerbread (v2.3). It also incorporates a whole bunch of new technologies and concepts on the hardware front, from a Near Field Communication (NFC) chip to a curved ‘Contour’ touchscreen for proposed touch ergonomics.
It has now been listed on two Indian online retailing sites, Flipkart and Infibeam, which list it as coming soon. AndroidOS.in reports that phone will be released by Samsung in India as the Nexus S, a.k.a GT-i9003, with a Super Clear LCD screen instead of the Super AMOLED screen that is currently retailing in the US and UK. It will apparently be priced at around Rs. 24,000 – a rathrgood value for money proposition when you consider the Galaxy S is still retailing for much more than that, making this rumoured price likely inaccurate

ZTE Light 2 Android Tablet Uses Pixel Qi Display

ZTE has launched a new Android tablet, the ZTE Light 2 which features a 7 inch Pixel Qi display with a resolution of  1024 x 600 pixels, it comes with Android 2.2 Froyo and also features a 1GHz processor.
Other specifications on the ZTE Light 2 4GB of built in storage, and it measure just 12.6mm thick, and offers support for DLNA, and comes with Dolby Surround 3.0 sound.

Rightware have released a first look at their new stereoscopic 3D Android interface

As well as announcing the new Acer Iconia Smart Android smartphone, and now we get to have a look at the Acer Iconia A100, which is a 7 inch Android tablet that was launched previously.
The Acer Iconia 7 inch Android tablet will come with Android 3.0 Honeycomb at launch, although the in the video below it is running Android 2.2 Froyo.

LG Optimus 3D Gets Official

We have been hearing about the Optimus 3D Android smartphone from LG for a couple of weeks now, and LG has finally officially announced the Optimus 3D.
The LG Optimus 3D features a dual core 1GHz Texas Instruments OMAP4 processor, there is also a 4.3 inch WVGA display and it comes with 8GB of memory and 4Gb LP DDR2, there is also a dual 5 lens 5 megapixel camera on the rear which can record 3D video.

The LG Optimus 3D is capable of recording and playing back Full HD video in 1080p in 2D and HD video in 720p in 3D, ti also comes with DLNA, HDMI, and HSPA.
LG have not given any pricing details as yet, all we know is that it will go on sale in Europe early in quarter 2, and it will come with Android 2.2 Froyo at launch and will get updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread shortly after.

New HTC Qwerty Android Smartphone Revealed

The guys over at the Boy Genius Report have managed to get their hands on some photos of a new full QWERTY Android smartphone from HTC.
This new HTC Android handset has a model number of ARD6325, and it is a Verizon branded smartphone and will come with the latest version of Google’s Android OS, Android 2.2 Froyo.

HTC Pyramid Dual Core Android Smartphone Rumored

According to the guys over at Android And Me, HTC are working on a new dual core smartphone, which is rumored to be called the HTC Pyramid, and it looks like it will feature a dual core Qualcomm MSM8260 1.2GHz processor.
Other rumored specifications on the HTC Pyramid include a 4.3 inch display with a possible resolution of 860 x 540 pixels, and it is also reported to run Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
HTC PyramidIt looks like the HTC Pyramid will be available on T-Mobile some time in May 2011 and it is expected to run on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network.

White Sony Ericcson Xperia Play Headed To O2 UK

UK mobile phone operator O2 has announced that they will be exclusively selling a white version of theSony Ericsson Xperia Play here in the UK.
The Xperia Play features a FWVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, there is also a 1GHz Qualcomm QSD8225 processor, plus 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM, plus a 5.1 megapixel camerawith autofocus, a built in flash.

The Sony Ericsson Experia Play will also come with  built in  WiFi, plus Bluetooth, A-GPS, a microUSB port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone Gets Reviewed Early (Video)

The Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone or Xperia Play has to be the most leaked new gadget of 2011 so far, we have seen lots of videos and photos of this yet to be announced smartphone from Sony Ericsson.
Now we have a review of this new handset which gives us a better idea of some of the specifications inside the new PlayStation Phone or Xperia Play.

It looks like the PlayStation Phone will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will feature a 1GHzprocessor, plus a 4 inch FWVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.
